Brother MFC 300 Printer Review

Some of the time one may see a low price and think they are getting a good deal on printer. That is not the case here with the Brother MFC-330 which is inexpensive, but also far away from the best option one has in printers these days. It does not rank even close to some of it's competition like the Pixma M330.

It is not a particularly fast printer, yielding only about 18 pages per minute, which is much lower than other printers with the same functionality. It won't take up an unreasonable amount of space on your desk, measuring about 12.8" x 16.1 x 19.3" (H x W x D) and is relatively light, 13.2 lbs.

However, the sole option for connecting it to one's computer is through a standard USB cable, which downgrades it's mobility greatly. The MFC-330 is both PC and Mac compatible with a maximum optical resolution of 600 x 1200 dpi. It uses four individual ink cartridges, black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. While it produces reasonable print quality for text, the output for photos is not close to acceptable. The lack of a flatbed scanner is also a detriment to this printer's overall appeal and functionality. One can spend their money more wisely elsewhere.
