Reviewed earlier this month by PC Magazine, the Canon
imageCLASS MF8350Cdn Printer
is aimed at small to medium sized business looking for a reasonably priced
AIO (print, scan, copy, and fax) laser printer. It offers printing speeds
of up to 21 pages per minute for both monochrome and color jobs and a maximum
resolution of 2400 x 600 dpi. The Canon
imageCLASS MF8350Cdn Printer
is not a small machine, measuring 18.9" x 17.0" x 19.1"(H x W x D) and weighing
64lbs. (without the cartridge).
It offers a 250-sheet paper tray standard as well as a 50-sheet multipurpose
tray that can hold more regular paper or have a different kind of paper.
For an additional $200, you can purchase another 250-sheet capacity paper
drawer, giving an overall total of 550 sheets which should be more than
sufficient for a small office. The Canon
imageCLASS MF8350Cdn Printer
also comes standard with an automatic duplexer and 50-sheet ADF. It is both
PC and Mac compatible and can be connected to your machine via USB cable
or Ethernet connection.
The overall print quality is certainly good enough for a small business
or workgroup. In terms of ink, the machine uses 4 toner cartridges (all
Canon 118s) for black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. At the time of this writing,
no high yield options exist. Overall, this a reasonably fast and reliable
printer that will function well for small or medium sized businesses and
the cost of operating it on a daily basis is low.
