New York, NY -- Initially announced on PrinterComparison.com with a host of other printers, the P713w now has its own full review with more details. It features a nice 4.3” WQVGA (Wide Quarter Video Graphics Array) screen and offers users 3-in-1 convenience (print, copy, scan). The printer measures a reasonable 8.27” x 19.13" x 16.89" (H x W x D) and weighs about 18 lbs without the ink and print head installed.
The P713w is capable of printing at a maximum of 33 ppm in black and white and 30 ppm in color with a top resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi. It offers a 150-sheet input tray and 50-sheet capacity output tray for its paper handling. Users can print photos directly from a variety of built-in memory card slots (CompactFlash, SD, xD, MMC, Memory Stick) or from a PictBridge USB port. The P713w can be connected to a PC or Mac via USB, Ethernet cable, or wirelessly.
In terms of ink, the new Dell model has gone away from cartridges and moved to ink tanks instead. There are still just two of them with a Dell Series 21 black ink tank and a Series 21 combination tank for cyan, magenta, and yellow. There are also high-yield (Series 24) cartridges available for use in the printer. This new model also features Dell’s Ink Management system that will keep a close watch on your printer ink levels so users are not left without any ink to print.
Unfortunately, this model does not come with an automatic duplexer, but the printer is capable of manual duplex via its Eco Mode. The Eco Mode also conserves printer energy when not it use to keep costs down. The reviewer noticed that even the draft mode of printing in this new P series printer from Dell was above average for quality. It is also capable of printing photos up t 8.5” x 11” in size. Overall, with a monthly duty cycle of 10,000 pages, this gives users the power of a business quality printer for a home user price.
