The latest offering in the Stylus NX line from Epson, the 515 includes a lot of useful features and remains cost efficient. This 3-in-1 (print, scan, copy) can print up to 36 black and white pages per minute (15 pages per minute for highest output quality) and up to 36 color pages per minute (9 pages for highest quality output). This amazing speed places it far ahead of its closest rivals without sacrificing any output quality. The NX 515 will scan at a max of 2400 x 2400 dpi and print at a max of 5760 x 1440 dpi. This Stylus printer includes multiple media card slots (xD, SD, and MemoryStick Pro, CompactFlash) and has a PictBridge-compatible USB port all of which are located on the front of the machine. It also offers a nice, tilted 2.5" color LCD on the display panel which makes viewing your photos very easy. The dimensions of the Stylus NX 515 are worth mentioning; 11.7" x 21.3" x 17.7" (HxWxD) for printing (about average size), but when stored with the trays retracted it only measures 7.2" x 13.5" x 17.7" (HxWxD). Another nice feature of the NX515 is that it offers 3 ways to connect to your computer: typical USB connection, a wired Ethernet connection, or wireless Wi-Fi. If you want to go with a wireless connection, you first do have to connect it directly to your machine and it will create an ad hoc connection to your router. One should note, however, that the box this machine comes in does not contain either the USB cord or an Ethernet cable. The NX515 is both Mac and PC compatible and like other Epson printers, the NX515 uses Durabrite Ink and offers individual ink cartridges for black, cyan, magenta, and yellow which makes replacing them a bit easier. If there is any fault to be found, the NX515 does not come with a creative software suite like HP printers. The bottom line though is that this machine is fast, reliable, and offers a great deal of features for any home office or small business at a reasonable price.
