Reviewed earlier this month by PC World, the Epson
Workforce 310 Printer
is a reasonable printer for home offices and small businesses. This 4-in-1
(print, copy, scan, fax) device offers users a maximum print speed of 36
pages per minute for black and white jobs and 20 pages per minute for color
jobs (after the first page prints). With trays fully extended it is somewhat
large; it measures 11.9" x 18.1" x 21.3" (H x W x D). It also features a
30-page ADF, but unfornately the duplexing it offers is manual only.
The Epson
Workforce 310 Printer
can be connected to your PC or Mac via a Wi-Fi connection, Ethernet port,
or a USB port. Designed more for function than looks, the Workforce 310
has a two-line monochrome LCD. It comes with a 100-sheet input tray and
an output tray that will hold up to 50 sheets of paper. Documents are printed
with a maximum resolution of 9600 x 9600 dpi.
In terms of ink, the Epson
Workforce 310 Printer
uses five separate cartridges-all Epson Durabrite Inks-two black cartridges
(69s) and then one cartridge each for cyan, magenta, and yellow (all 68s).
The two black cartridges (which are both required) are designed to keep
users printing longer (the two are equal to a large cartridge). All of the
cartridges have high-capacity equivalents.
There are a few detriments to this device worth mentioning. Surprisingly
lacking from this AIO are any slots for memory cards, which come standard
on most other printers from other manufacturers, even at this price point.
Also, to get a full understanding of the printer, you have to download the
user's guide from Epson's website; it does not come standard with the printer
for some reason (nor does the USB cable for that matter). Overall, this
is a decent choice for a home office or small business if they can do without
printing photos directly from the device.
