The HP Photosmart C6380 has many of the same features as higher-end Photosmart printers, but for a lower cost. Gone are the fax machine and automatic document feeder, but it's other features make up the difference. It will print up to 9600 x 2400 dpi, a better resolution than other equally priced machines. This Photosmart also will scan at 4800dpi…It offers a smaller footprint, 8.1" x 17.8" x 16", making it easier to fit on your desk or move around. The Photosmart C6380 can print up to 33 pages per minute black and white, and 31 pages per minute for color documents. One nice additional feature of this machine is the 2.4" LCD screen that pops up from the front left corner. It can be angled a variety of ways, and even provides a small graphic that will let you know how much ink is in each of the cartridges. It offers several slots for memory cards across the front of the machine and a PictBridge connection as well (supports CompactFlash , Memory Stick , MultiMediaCard , SD Memory Card , xD-Picture Card , Memory Stick Duo , SDHC Memory Card). This printer is both Mac and PC compatible and offers hassle-free setup of 802.11b/g wireless connectivity. The C6380 has a 6-cartridge bay-a nice feature of a printer in this price range-with one large black ink cartridge for photos (564 Photo), and 5 other ink cartridges (each is a 564 cartridge, and then categorized by color) for printing. One minor detriment to this printer is the image quality of photos. Also it should be noted that the printer does not come with a USB cord in the box, so you will have to buy one if you don't already have one that will work. Professional photographers will want to look elsewhere for a printer, but for the novice photographer or for simple family photos, it's a good bet. Overall, the HP Photosmart offers above average features and is intuitive to use, making it a great bargain at around $200.
