HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One Printer Review
Date: August 28, 2010
New York, NY -- Just released by HP, the Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One, a.k.a. the C410a, is the top of the line offering from their new and unique series of printers that come with their own e-mail address. Each of the printers is similar to an existing HP printer, but much more advanced.
The C410a has print speeds up to 33ppm and offers the convenience of four devices—a printer, scanner, copier, and fax—all in one compact design. Measuring 11.14 x 18.43 x 17.8” and weighing under 23lbs, this device can easily be placed in your home or office. The built-in wireless capability allows you to share it among multiple users with ease.
As we said above, this printer comes with its own e-mail address, a revolutionary concept itself, as well as the ability to directly connect with the web to print things such as coupons, directions, or greeting cards. More free apps are available online and can easily be downloaded. There are slots to accommodate a variety of memory cards so you can print photos without connecting to your PC.
In terms of paper handling, the C410a comes with a 125 sheet input tray as well as a dedicated photo tray which can hold up to 20 sheets at a time. This device also comes standard with the ability to automatically duplex your print jobs to save you paper. The 50-sheet ADF, also standard, allows for two-sided scanning and faxing of documents.
This Photosmart Premium Fax device comes with 5 individual ink cartridges (all 564s; black, photo black, cyan, magenta, and yellow), each of which has a high-yield equivalent. The machine ships with standard cartridges that yield 250 pages (black) or 300 pages (cyan, magenta, and yellow). The photo black cartridge is only used in the printing of photos and it’s standard cartridge yields enough ink for 130 4x6” images. If you replace those standard cartridges with the high yield ones, the 564XL black yields 800 pages; the three 564XL colors yield 750 pages each; and the high yield photo 564XL photo black yields 290 4x6” images.
All indications point to this being another solid printer from HP. The first customer review on Amazon.com was very positive and we are sure many more will follow. Due to the 1600-page monthly duty cycle, this is probably more suited for home use than it is for business use.
