Reviewed earlier this month by Computer Shopper, the Lexmark Interact S605 Printer
is the top of the line model (3-in-1, print, copy, scan) in Lexmark's new home office series of AIO printers. It features a 4.3" touch screen LCD and Wireless N connectivity similar to the Lexmark Prestige and Lexmark Platinum, the top two printers in Lexmark's new professional series of printers.
It will print up to 33 pages per minute for black and white jobs and 30 pages per minute for color jobs with a maximum resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi. It does not have a particularly large footprint, measuring 7.0" x 20.24" x 14.09" (H x W x D). You can print directly from your camera using the Interact's memory card slot bay which supports a variety of media (SD, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, and xD-PictureCard ) and a PictBridge port.
The paper is fed into the machine (100-sheet max) through the back and then ejects into a tray in front. There is no ADF that comes with the Interact, but it does offer automatic 2-sided printing so you can save some paper that way. In terms of ink, the device utilizes 4 separate ink tanks, black, cyan, magenta, and yellow (all 100As) and each has a high yield (XL) equivalent. The Interact is both PC and Mac compatible and in addition to the built-in wireless connectivity, you can also connect it to your PC via USB cable.
One nice additional feature worth mentioning is it's EcoMode that will automatically adjust settings to save you energy and ink. There are only a few notable downsides to the Interact. It does not offer the user the option of connecting via Ethernet cable and it also lacks a document feeder. Overall, this is very nice and capable printer for a home or home office and the features are very good for this price point.
