New York, NY -- Reviewed in late 2008 by PrinterComparison.com, the Xerox Phaser 3250dn is still going
strong as a personal monochrome laser printer for small or home-based business, as well as a sturdy home
printer. While some may contend its simplicity downgrades it from similarly priced MFP/AIOs, simplicity is
also one of the most beautiful features about this machine. Xerox did not overdo it with tons of buttons and
blinking lights, but concentrated on making a solid product. If you need the other functions or would like to
be able to print photos, then yes, this is not the printer for you.
It is designed as a personal printer and measures accordingly at a mere 14.3" x 14.5" x 9.4" (LxWxH) and
weighing 26lbs. The 3250dn can print at a maximum of 30ppm and offers a built-in duplexer for two-sided
printing. It is PC and Mac compatible up through Windows 7 and Mac OS X (no Snow Leopard driver was listed). In
terms of paper, the 3250dn comes with a 250-sheet drawer and hidden just above that is a single-sheet manual
feed multipurpose tray. The multipurpose tray comes with two handy clips to easily adjust to the size of your
media and hold it in place. The main paper tray can be set to hold letter, A4, and legal sized sheets of plain
paper.
The printer can be connected to your computer via USB cable or Ethernet connection. Unlike many printers
these days, the necessary USB cable is actually included in the contents of the box. The ink is reasonably
priced, with a standard yield (3,500 pages) $88.99 and a high yield (5,000) pages for $105.99. Overall, this is
a very reasonable printer for home, home-office or small business use.
