Lake Success, NY -- A press release dated July 22 on Canon USA’s site announced that some of Canon’s wide format printers were recognized by Business Equipment Research and Test Laboratories (BERTL) for their annual printer awards. Those printers receiving this “BEST” recognition include the imagePROGRAF iPF8300, iPF6350 and iPF6300 large format printers.
The award-winning printers from Canon are definitely aimed at professionals and given them many options for printing their works. Each of the printers comes with a Media Configuration Tool which can handle more media types than previously released printers. These imagePROGRAF printers also feature better photographic output via Adobe and Canon plug-ins such as Black Point Compensation. In addition, each of these three new models allows for direct printing of 16-bit RGB images from Photoshop which preserves gradation.
Both the iPF6350 and the iPF6300 are Energy Start certified and RoHS compliant, but the iPF 8300 was not included in the group. These new printers also feature the new 12 color LUCIA EX printer ink systems increases which improves the potential colors achieved, PrinterComparison.com said, by 20% (a figure attributed by them to Canon). Further, both are 24” in size and come with a variety of new and improved features.
The iPF8300 is almost twice as big at 44” in width as well as coming standard with Gigabit Ethernet support and an Account Manager feature which will help those customers in the “fine art, photography, and proofing markets”.
