New York, NY -- As part of their ongoing corporate green initiative, Dell has opened their “Green Store” says Katherine Montgomery of PC Magazine. We were interested in this story mainly for the green printers, but they also sell laptops, desktops, servers, and other peripheral devices. Every device they list for sale has gone through a battery of tests to make sure that it is in fact, green enough.
According to Ms. Montgomery, Dell’s press release indicated that one objective of this launch was to “make green shopping easier for customers interested in eco-responsible purchases.” One thing Dell has in its favor in this new venture is that they are not selling exclusively Dell products. Products from other companies that have the same characteristics are also sold there as well. Each product sold also has some type of green certification from a third party.
