New York, NY -- Yesterday the Seiko Epson company, maker of Epson peripherals, announced it’s plans to produce even more eco-friendly printers going forward. They have discovered that by eliminating paint from the surface treatment phase of production would be a more eco-friendly practice. By doing away with the paint, the process produces significantly less CO2 emissions. For instance, with the testing done up to this point, a 92 reduction in paint eliminated 9,300 tonnes of CO2.
In addition to the environmental benefits, there are financial advantages as well. The latest Epson printers have a new texture which appears glossy and reduces the appearances of both fingerprints and other marks on the surface.
Moving forward Epson will continue to produce an increasing number of these new types of printers reducing their carbon footprint even more. They pledge to find new metallic textures and colors that are meet these standards.
