According to Epson's corporate website, an independent research group, Torrey Pines Research, found the Epson Workforce 610
was dramatically faster than other printers priced under $200. The tests were conducted using the new ISO/IEC 24734 print speeds standards which are supposed to provide objective results. These results in turn then make it easier for consumers and businesses to be able compare printers knowing that all of the testing was done in a consistent manner, regardless of brand. is able to produce high-quality prints at 15 pages per minute in black, and 9.3 pages per minute in color. Epson also stipulates that many of their other models when compared to like machines also double the output speed. One caveat that should be noted, however, is that the ISO only requires color output speed results to be made publicly available if the machine prints in color, and the black printing speed results are optional. Epson stated that they go above and beyond the ISO requirements, provided both figures for the benefit of the consumer.
