Not Just Your Average “Neighborhood” Print Shop Anymore

New York, NY -- Announced late Tuesday, FedEx Office has entered a partnership with HP and Canon to revolutionize 1800 of their stores nationwide, reports the website “Commercial Appeal” Over the next year, HP and Canon printers will be installed at the locations, giving FedEx Office much needed standardization from store to store. The president of FedEx Office, Brian Phillips, was quoted as saying that this venture is “ ‘game-changing moment in the retail print industry’”
The new devices make possible for customers printing from wireless devices, thumb drives, and through HP’s Cloud Printing service. For their part, Canon be responsible for the majority of the equipment for consumers and store employees. They will also be provided document management solutions which will allow remote monitoring, configuration, and maintenance. HP on the other hand will be providing the Cloud infrastructure and printers designed for large-format jobs such as banners and signs. In addition, HP will be providing rental computers to be used in the self-service zone of each store.
FedEx Office, as part of this partnership with HP, will become another location where consumers can pick up photos, greeting cards, and more created and ordered through HP’s SnapFish.
By combining different services from two industry leaders, FedEx Office has positioned itself well for the future. Both the HP and Canon spokesmen shared the excitement expressed by the FedEx Office president.
