How To Get The Most Ink From Your Printer Cartridge

Ink cartridges can be very expensive to replace and/or refill. In order to get the most out your cartridge, it is important to keep the print heads clean and choose the right settings each time. These are a few steps you can follow to help maximize each cartridge.

• Use the Draft Mode - If you don't have to turn in a nice-looking copy for a class or presentation, then don't put your ink into it. Use the draft mode to conserve your ink and thus get more pages.


• Choose the Cartriges - If you know you are not going to need to print any color text or graphics on your page, then be sure to deselect the color cartridges (print only in black and white) for that job. Believe it or not, the printer will take some of your color ink to make black ink.


• Print only the pages you need - Often times people will decide to print an entire webpage or document instead of only printing what they need. If you only need to print one page, be sure and select the "Current Page" from your print dialog box. Another often overlooked printing feature is the "Selection" option. You can highlight only the text you need and only print those lines.
