Homemade Lego Printer

Date: June 2, 2010

New York, NY -- What do you get when you mix Legos, a felt tip pen, and some originality? It may sound like a joke, but it is far from it. In potentially might be one of the neatest uses of Legos to date, someone has managed to build a printer out of the aforementioned parts plus some mechanical parts, a printer driver, and a USB interface. We found the story via Google and PC World.

This story has been tweeted and retweeted an astonishing number of times already and we’re sure the trend will continue. Hooked up to a Macintosh, it was tested on OS X and worked. Surprisingly, the printer is easy to maintain because all you have to do is swap out the pen when you run out of ink, says PC World.

For a story such as this, words really do not do it justice. To see how it works, you have to check out the video on YouTube via PC World: http://www.pcworld.com/article/197803/homemade_lego_printer_says_hello_world.html.
