HP Launches New Worldwide Laser Printer Savings Campaign

New York, NY -- Today marks the launching of a new HP campaign from HP called “HP LaserJet Pays You Back” says a press release on HP’s corporate website. According to HP, a company or user can save up to $2500 in under a year by using an HP Color LaserJet Multifunction Printer (MFP).
HP asserts that the purchase of an MFP from HP will pay for itself over time and customers can further realize savings through “energy, paper, and toner saving.” Senior vice president for HP’s LaserJet and Enterprise Solutions group Ron Coughlin likens the process to a car trade in, “Upgrading to an HP Color LaserJet MFP is like trading in your gas guzzler for a hybrid that pays for itself in gas savings and then continues to pay its owner after that.”
For the purposes of this campaign, HP has gone outside their company and enlisted the help of some famous entrepreneurs, Ivanka Trump (daughter of Donald and Ivana Trump) and Bill Rancic (the first ever winner of NBC’s The Apprentice). The campaign kicks off today at the north Corner of Madison Square Park at 11:00AM.
The campaign, according to HP, “is a powerful, primarily digital marketing campaign that combines social media, digital influencers and strategic partnerships to engage small and midsize businesses (SMBs) and IT decision makers while broadening awareness of the HP LaserJet as a business investment.” Here is a summarization of the highlights:
HP is using a combination of both print and online advertising with the slogan “When was the last time you bought something for your business that actually paid for itself?”
Beginning in July, HP has hired Federated Media to help spread the word about return on investment (ROI) through various social media outlets including highly regarded business blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and a variety of technology and computer websites
Creation of a microsite, HP Pays You Back which will have things like an “HP LaserJet savings calculator, peer reviews, detailed product information and special offers.”
