Palo Alto, CA -- HP recently issued a press release announcing that they had been ranked a leader by IDC, a top industry analysis firm, in IDC’s MarketScape: Worldwide Managed Print Services 2011 Hardcopy Vendor Analysis Study. In the analysis, HP was rated highly in both strategic direction as well as offering capabilities.
For HP, this is further confirmation that the corporate strategies that they have employed and the technology they have developed are succeeding. Among the tools which help set HP apart are their industry-leading HP ePrint technology, their Open Extensibility Platform, and lastly, their FutureSmart firmware. Not only do these solutions enable today’s mobile employee to print what they need to print, regardless of location, but they also enhance the already impressive suite of functions that come with HP printers right out of the box.
According to HP’s senior vice president, Managed Enterprise Solutions, Imaging and Printing Group, Bruce Dahlgren,
“‘The ability to enable mobile workers and create a secure and sustainable printing infrastructure drove significant growth in the MPS industry this past year. Looking ahead, market leadership will be defined by the ability to provide a consultative partnership focused on simplifying the most complex business processes and managing a larger print infrastructure.’”
In May of 2011, HP took steps to further strengthen their MPS offerings by acquiring Utah-based Printelligent. This move has made it possible for HP to deliver its top notch solutions to the SMB market as well as to enable more scaling based on the needs of their customers.
IDC’s Angèle Boyd said that HP was “a leader in the worldwide managed print services market, providing a robust offering that includes a consultative approach to optimizing customers’ printing and document infrastructure, spanning distributed and centralized environments, and SMBs through enterprises. HP addresses a range of printing, imaging and document needs within an organization, with a strong focus on vertical-specific document-intensive workflows.”
