New York, NY -- According to the Market Watch web site, on 19 Apr. 2010, Stratasys delivered their first batch of HP branded 3-D printers. We first reported on this( FIND LINK) back in January when the deal was first struck.
HP, upon this delivery, has launched the printers in Europe the same day. In doing so, HP takes a step forward from the rest of the printer crowd becoming the only 2-D printer maker to offer a 3-D product. These Designjet 3D Printers will be released first into five European markets beginning in May: France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.
Both sides expressed enthusiasm for this major development. For Stratasys, it proved that they can deliver on a promise and for HP, they have begun to find a new niche in which they can gain revenue for the foreseeable future. Judging by the intense competition in the printing industry, there may be other 3-D printers coming out or developed over the coming months and years.
