New York, NY -- A story on the Recycler site dated August 31 says that HP has settled with the U.S. Dept. of Justice for $55 million relating to allegations over government kickbacks. The claim was originally brought in Arkansas in 2007.
This settlement is reportedly amongst the richest that the USDOJ has managed. HP shares will drop by at least two cents each as part of the this for their 3Q financials. The resignation of Mark Hurd has also been pointed to as a contributing factor for any other losses HP might suffer.
