New York, NY -- Continuing on a successful 2011, Ink-O-Dem has announced their first deal of 2012 with a college campus. They will be placing one of their latest refill machines in the book store at Ohio University. The large campus is located primarily in Athens, Ohio, but has some regional campuses as well with a total enrollment of over 35,000 students.
Ink-O-Dem’s current system is reportedly compatible with 146 different cartridges from multiple OEM manufacturers. To refill a cartridge with this machine costs roughly half of what a new, OEM cartridge would. .
A representative from the Ohio U. bookstore, Gene Armes remarked, “‘In keeping with the trend of universities around the nation becoming environmental stewards, we are proud to be providing this value-added and environmentally friendly option to the Ohio University students and faculty and our surrounding community. At College Book Store, we are very customer service-oriented, and adding printer ink refills to our menu of services for our students at Ohio University has been received with much enthusiasm so far.’”
Eco-conscious college students on a tight budget will surely appreciate the convenience of having this type of service on their campus. With all of the deals and partnerships Ink-O-Dem has announced in the last 10-12 months gives credibility to the movement to have people refill their ink cartridges instead of chucking them out in the trash. As anyone who has ever worked on a college campus knows, students print reams upon reams of paper every semester, so printing is far from dead in that arena.
