Rochester, NY -- In a story sure to get a lot of attention across the web, the Associated Press is reporting on the FTC’s recommendation to Kodak provide further clarification for their “Save $110” campaign. They will be allowed to continue the mission, with the aforementioned caveat.
The original slogan simply stated that consumers could switch to Kodak’s printers and save $110 per year on ink costs. Simple, yes. Accurate? Sort of. Kodak has agreed that it will now include that the savings is based on a consumer printing more than 1,500 pages per year, which translates to roughly 4 prints per day. The new slogan is: “Save on average $110 per year on ink based on just four pages per day.”
The FTC has now officially closed their investigation which began in response to a complaint filed by Hewlett-Packard to the National Advertising Division trade folks.
