Latest Epson Thermal Printers

New York, New York -- Epson, a company well known for its POS thermal printing solutions, announced today that it would be expanding its successful line of printers. The new printers will be aimed at smaller businesses and food service operators, without sacrificing the features on which other Epson customers rely. The three new machines will be coming out over the next two business quarters will be: “a compact, thermal printer with all-front access for use in specialty POS solutions and kiosk applications, an all-inclusive packaged thermal printer for small retail and food service applications, and a-next generation thermal printer designed for customers who require full-featured printing functionality.” With these new editions, Epson feels confident that they are providing a large enough range in functionality and price that will cover the whole retail industry.

According to a 2009 brand awareness survey (the Litchfield Brand Awareness Study, March 2009), 78% of the resellers surveyed felt that the breadth and depth of Epson products was a definitive advantage when selling these machines to retailers. Epson also did well in the IHL 2009 North American Retail Point-of-Sale Printers market study which showed them as capturing 41% of the overall market share for thermal POS printers base. The study also predicted a 58% rise in the demand for thermal printers by the year 2012. Of that growth, it is anticipated the majority to be in the small or medium-sized business.
