Lexmark Offers Green Tips

In celebration of Earth Day on April 22nd Lexmark released a 10 steps that consumers at home can follow to save themselves money on ink cartridges and printing while also reducing their carbon footprint. Here are the steps that Lexmark International announced as true money savers that have the parallel effect of reducing one impact on the environment:
1. Reduce electric bill, improve your attitude: Use wireless technology to work or hold a meeting outside for fresh air and natural sunlight.
2. Save money: Look for electronics with a longer warranty.
3. Save paper: Reduce margins on your pages before you print.
4. Save ink and paper: Proof and review documents before you print.
5. Save ink and paper: Download Lexmark's free Web Toolbar, with features that eliminate unwanted pages from online prints using any brand of printer.
6. Reduce waste: Recycle your ink cartridges. There are so many places online and offline which will accept your old ink cartridges – and actually pay you to recycle them.
7. Save ink: Print text only (or print in draft mode) to reduce the amount of ink used.
8. Save paper: Print on both sides of the page; look for a built-in duplex or two-sided feature on your printer.
9. Save money, reduce waste: Use high-yield cartridges to reduce your cost per page.
10. Save paper and ink: Think before you print, print only what is necessary.
