New York, NY -- According to The Recycler website, Lexmark has become the latest company to seek retribution for patent infringement from foreign enterprises.
Lexmark told the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) that 24 companies which make, import, and then sell replacement cartridges for Lexmark printers have broken 15 US patents. With their complaint, they have requested that the ITC issue “‘a general exclusion order banning the importation and sale of patent infringing laser cartridges by any entity.’”
In addition to the complaint to the ITC, also filed a similar charge with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio against the same parties. For this complaint, Lexmark, Inc. is looking for “injunctive relief, monetary damages, and attorney’s fees.”
