Lexmark Printers - 15 Year Milestone Reached

brother printer ink

15 years ago Lexmark, originally a branch off from IBM, launched their first inkjet printer. They now manufacture laser and dot-matrix printers as well as inkjet printers. The debut of the first mass-market inkjet was earlier, around 1982.

Although Lexmark is a major player in the inkjet market today, Canon, Epson, and Hewlett-Packard are usually credited with the original development of inkjet printing technology. Inkjet printers work by pushing liquid ink onto the paper. Inkjet printers usually cost less to purchase initially than laser printers, and retain the capability to produce high-quality results. The ink is the primary expense in maintaining working inkjet printers.

Lexmark printer sales have been falling, but the company remains hopeful. They recently launched a series of laser printers in the Middle East.
