More Money Saving Printing Tips

Date: February 22, 2010

New York, NY -- We have talked before at Castle Ink about printer tips and now we would like to add to that be proffering just a few more for you to consider we garnered from a recent PC World article.

  • Tip #1: Print only what you know you will need. It may sound overly simplistic, but adopting this stance will save you money in the long run.
  • Tip #2: Email Messages – You may have seen going around your office that little green icon that icon that says “Please don’t print this e-mail unless you really need to”. Well, that’s very sound advice when it comes to saving you the other type of green. One option is to select only what you need and copy and paste it into a document. Another option geared towards Mac users is to download a program called Word Service 2.7 which gives you a large number of text-editing features that help reduce an email’s space on the page.
  • Tip #3: Recycle that Paper – If you tend to print a lot of things that only cover one side of a sheet of paper, set them aside. They can be flipped over and for things that don’t need to be exceptional, or are for your purposes only, feed those sheets back into your printer.
  • Tip #4: Don’t Fear the Manual Duplex – if you were not able to find a printer with automatic duplexing in your price range, perhaps manual duplexing is an option. Be sure to test some pages so you know what direction the text will come out in. If that is not an option, you can choose to print the odd pages first, then flip the sheets accordingly and print the even pages.
