New York, NY -- According to PrinterComparison.com, Epson announced March 9 the release of two new inkjet printers aimed at small to medium-sized businesses that need to print a robust amount of pages each month. The two printers are the B-310N and B-510DN. The former retails for $399 and the latter for $599.
Both of the printers use Epson’s DURABrite Ultra Ink and come with a standard paper input capacity of 650 sheets apiece. Other common features include two-way paper feeding,
The B-310N uses four individual ink tanks so you only have to replace the one you run out of, instead of having to deal with a tri-color cartridge. They are heavy duty as well; the black is rated for 3,000 pages and the color cartridges are rated for 3,500 apiece. The cost to print per page is relatively low when compared to other printers coming in at about six cents per page at its lowest. The B-310N is capable of maximum printing speeds of 19 and 18 ppm for black and color respectively. Finally, it has a high maximum monthly duty cycle of 10,000 pages, prints at a maximum resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi, and comes with 32MB of internal memory out of the box.
The B-510DN, which is a step above the B-310N also has four ink cartridges which have even higher page yields. The black cartridge is rated for 8,000 pages and the color cartridges are rated for 7,000 pages each. It has the same print speed as the B-310N, but offers the convenience of an auto duplexer. The B-510DN’s maximum monthly duty cycle is rated at twice that of the other model projected at 20,000 pages. Another nice feature of the 510 model is a five-line LCD screen.
At the time of this writing, both models were sold out at the Epson store, but one may be able to find another online vendor that has them in stock.
