Dell Announces New Workgroup Printers

New York, NY -- According to PC Magazine, Dell announced the release of three new workgroup printers in November. The new machines include a single-function letter-sized color laser printer, their first-ever LED printer that can print up to tabloid-size sheets, and a single-function monochrome laser printer.

The single-function color laser, the 5130cdn is reputed to be the world’s fastest single-function laser printer with an output speed of up to 47 pages per minute(ppm) for single-sided jobs and 37 ppm for duplex jobs. The ratings are the same for both color and monochrome. Another notable feature of the device is its new “ColorByDell” which Dell feels will offer improved color saturation and image sharpness. Its cost per page is not terrible by any means at about one penny for monochrome prints and about eight cents for color pages. It has a robust monthly duty cycle of 110,000 pages and retail for $1,549 with a three-year-next-business-day warranty.

Dell’s new LED color printer, the 7130cdn, features an even more robust duty cycle of 150,000 pages per month. It also comes with a 1GHz processor standard. It retails for $2,799 and comes with a one-year-next-business-day warranty.

The final printer, the Dell 3330dn has a print speed of up to 40 ppm and offers a monthly duty cycle of 80,000 pages. It comes with a standard one year warranty and retails for $599.
