New York, NY -- On November 4, Epson announced the availability of a new POS printer, according to the Business Wire website. The new printer, the TM-T70 will be especially useful for businesses like specialty retail, convenience store, and food service establishments because it is compact and offers front access for all buttons as well as the output slot for the receipts themselves. It is the first of three such devices to be unveiled over the next two quarters as part of Epson’s thermal printer expansion.
Key Features
Front access – The printer includes front facing controls, paper loading, and receipt dispensing. It is also comes with near-end paper detector, paper out, power, and error LEDs, as well as other features.
Small and Space Saving – The printer measures 4.49” in height, so it can be placed under counters or other tight spaces. There is also an optional mount so you can attach it directly underneath.
Spill-resistant – The TM-T70 has a sealed top to prevent spills and also to neatly manage the cords and cables.
Speed and Resolution – The printer will output receipts and graphics at a rate of 170mm per second and 180 dpi resolution. It also supports 2-D barcodes as well.
Reliability – The TM-T70 comes with a two year warranty with an MCBF of 52 million lines and an autocutter that will last through 1.5 million cuts.
Compatibility and Connectivity – It is compatible with “best-of-breed and component-based systems” and can be connected either through USB, Ethernet, serial, parallel, or wireless. Further, it can be integrated into any location where Epson’s TM-T88 series is used.
Business owners can look for this TM-T70 model to be available in December 2009.
