New York, NY -- According to a press release issued today from Delphax, they will be unveiling their new line of printers, the elan™ at the drupa 2012 trade show in Dusseldorf between May 3-16.
Combining Delphax’s existing digital printing technology with the speed of Memjet will produce a new and truly unique device with color of the highest quality at rapid, never before seen speeds for machines of this nature. The new elan printers will be able to print “up to 500 impressions per minute in full color and 1600 dpi print quality on a wide range of substrates and sheet sizes”.
According to Delphax president and CEO, Dieter Schilling,
“‘We are introducing a game-changing print system at drupa. Developed, engineered and manufactured by Delphax, this system offers an unprecedented combination of speed, versatility, affordability and high quality for color sheet-fed inkjet production. There is nothing approaching this performance in the market today.’”
Delphax has been in their industry for more than 30 years, and thus brings a wealth of talent and quality to each unit the develop. The Memjet printhead (in this case multiple printheads sewn together), offers a resolution of 1600 dpi, and fires up to 700 million drops on ink per second from the 70,000 nozzles which are part of every standard Memjet printhead.
In digital printing, time is money like in every other industry, and the new elan series is designed to work and produce excellent results in a variety of on-demand scenarios. These include things such as: “direct mail, transpromo and billing, book and manual publishing or security printing.’”
Interested parties can see the new elan printer in Hall 8b, stand C10 in Dusseldorf in May.
