Irvine, CA -- Roland DGA, a printer company best known for its wide-format printers and large scale inkjet/cutters , announced that it would begin a recycling initiative in the United States according to the web site Wide-FormatImaging.com. It is credited with being their “most comprehensive US environmental initiative to date.” The program will include the recycling of cartridges from all of their products which include eco-solvent, solvent, sublimation, UV, and aqueous models.
The vice president and general manager of Roland DGA, Corp., Rick Scrimger stated that, “ ‘The facility we have selected is state of the art and recycles over 99 percent of waste to save landfills. We encourage our customers to help protect our planet by participating in this easy, cost effective new program.’” He was also quoted as saying that they were excited to offer customers this opportunity.
Despite this excitement, Roland DGA was not excited enough to cover the cost of the shipping themselves. Be warned, customers will have to pay to send their cartridges back to Irvine, CA where the company is based. The estimated rates will run from a minimum $4.90 for one cartridge shipped back via the postal service and then upwards from there.
Roland DG expect to begin offering this service to their customers in Canada later this year. For more details, visit them on the web at: http://www.rolanddga.com/recycle.
