New York, NY -- In a news release on their U.S.A. corporate site dated August 19, Canon U.S.A. announced the release of the newest member of their ever-popular Selphy line of compact photo printers, the CP800. The CP800 offers the convenience of a tilt-able LCD screen as well as a new feature for shuffling through images from a memory card.
As with most dedicated photo printers, the design is fairly compact. The CP800 offers the convenience of an optional battery pack ($80) so you really can print photos anywhere. This particular model has a 2.5” LCD screen for photo previewing photos before printing and the shuffle mode allows for the combining of multiple images on one print.
The Selphy CP800 comes with some notable image-related features as well. The first, Canon’s Smooth Skin feature, serves to improve the rendering of skin tones in photos. This device also comes with Canon’s Image Optimizer and Portrait Image Optimize which automatically correct and enhance the quality of your photos. P>
This model, as is the case with many of these compact printers, is only able to print photos which are 4x6” in size. That said, it produces these photos in a zippy 47 seconds per print. It does come with a plethora of memory card slots and a PictBridge port for direct printing without your PC. The retail price for this printer is estimated to be $99.99 and can be purchased in either white or black.
