HP, Snapfish and Walmart Join Forces For Photo Printing
Date: February 11, 2010
New York, NY -- From a press release issued in October 2009 by HP, it was announced that Snapfish, owned by HP, Walmart, and New York drug store chain Duane Reed have reached an agreement with photo printing. Effective immediately for Walmart customers, they can order their prints online through Snapfish, and then pick them up an hour later from any one of the 3,350 participating Walmart stores nationwide.
For Duane Reed customers, beginning Sunday November 14, the same will be true. Order your prints online and then go to any of the over 250 stores located in metropolitan Manhattan. The advantage with this particular store is its control of the largest market share for drug stores in that area. Further, Duane Reed customers will have the option of picking up a variety of other picture media including large poster prints, wall calendars, hardcover photo books and photo cards at select stores. p>
These new business partnerships are projected to make Snapfish the largest print-to-store web destination in the United States. According to one analyst, Allan Bullock of InfoTrends, they have predicted that online orders will account for almost 50% of the retail printing within a few years.
Snapfish customers will be able to find the closest pickup location by entering their zip code as they purchase their prints.
