PRINT 09 will be held September 11th to the 16th in Chicago. Several next generation inkjet developments will be on display. The trend is improving quality and speed of inkjet printing for wide formats.
Fujifilm will be showing its latest inkjet digital printer, which is much faster and higher quality than past printers. Their new printing technology allows for large formats of 720mm x 520mm. The resolution the technology is capable of will be 1200 dpi. The printer Fujifilm developed that incorporates this inkjet technology will be a high speed and high productivity printer. New print heads allow for the larger formats with less loss in quality or speed, and the water-based inkjet material gives the printer the capability to print on many types of paper with consistent results.
Pitman will also be showcasing new wide-format inkjet technologies and other digital inkjet developments.
EFI Vutek will be displaying another inkjet printer for wide formats. Their model uses “UV curable” technology.
HP will feature an inkjet printer that is marketed for posters, maps, and art.
