There are some things you can do quite easily to fix your printer and avoid having to bring it to a service technician. Below are the top ten things to do before taking your printer in for service:

  • 1. Make sure your printer has power.
  • 2. Verify that the printer is turned on.
  • 3. Replace the ink cartridges cartridges.
  • 4. Check for paper.
  • 5. Inspect the cables and make sure they are firmly connected.
  • 6. Look for paper jams by opening the cover and removing all of the paper trays.
  • 7. Utilize your printer’s self-test.
  • 8. Read the book that comes with your printer.
  • 9. Find specific troubleshooting information on the manufacturer’s website.
  • 10. If all of the above fails, turning the printer off and on again can solve a multitude of problems.
