There are some things you can do quite easily to fix your printer and avoid having to bring it to a service technician. Below are the top ten things to do before taking your printer in for service:
1. Make sure your printer has power.
2. Verify that the printer is turned on.
3. Replace the ink cartridges cartridges.
4. Check for paper.
5. Inspect the cables and make sure they are firmly connected.
6. Look for paper jams by opening the cover and removing all of the paper trays.
7. Utilize your printer’s self-test.
8. Read the book that comes with your printer.
9. Find specific troubleshooting information on the manufacturer’s website.
10. If all of the above fails, turning the printer off and on again can solve a multitude of problems.
