Printers Removed from Store for Working TOO Well

Quality of print jobs is something discussed ad nauseam in printer reviews and news everyday, and rightly so. Bad print quality is an unacceptable inconvenience for home users or small business owners. On the flip side of that, it has been reported that the New Scotland Yard in the United Kingdom has gone into shops and seized printers for having too great of a quality. The brand and model have not been revealed publicly.

The fake ID, which in the past was sought by many young people for underage drinking and clubbing, has a new function. The printer, as it turns out, became the prime choice of counterfeiters and people seeking to defraud institutions. During the investigation, according to Scotland Yard, revealed the printer as the source of false identifications including European Union driver’s licenses and national identity cards.

In the last year and a half, detectives have shut down over 20 counterfeiting operations. They have also released details about 30,000 false identities created by criminals to deceive banks, credit card companies, and other financial institutions.

To the untrained eye, the identifications look authentic enough that criminals have used them to fool immigration officers to set up benefits, obtain loans, and more.
