Samsung Unveils Printer Trade-in Initiative

According to ChannelWeb UK, Samsung has released the details of their latest green initiative. Under the new plan, users can go onto Samsung’s website, select what make and model they are returning, select their choice for a new printer, and then they will be issued a quote for their trade. The money will be placed directly into their bank account but they must agree to purchase a new Samsung printer. The customer is responsible for providing the postage to a recycling center. Because the printers will be coming from various distances and countries, there is no way for Samsung to give an accurate assessment of the cost. This new plan will be implemented across Europe and last through July of 2010. Analysts believe that the responsibility thrust on the customers may be a turn off.
