Samsung’s Recycling Program, S.T.A.R.

Date: April 19, 2010

Ridgefield Park, NJ -- The Samsung Takeback and Recycling Program (S.T.A.R.) is their effort to ensure a better environment for all of us. Each product that is sent back to them is broken down into its component parts and then the pieces are used to make other, new manufacturing efforts. Even the packing materials themselves are recycled, lessening the environmental impact.

Samsung, on their corporate website, promises that their products are never sent to landills or incinerated. While Samsung has not yet developed their own method of remanufacturing new cartridges out of old one, they are researching ways to do so. One of the nicest parts of this program is that the services is 100% free to the consumer or business (except for printing a return label).

If you want to take part in these efforts, Samsung makes it very easy. They provide a short form on their website and once filled out and submitted will generate a label that can be affixed to the new cartridge’s box and sent back.

For more details, you can visit Samsung’s S.T.A.R. site at: https://pages.samsung.com/starus/index.jsp.
