New York, NY -- According to PC Magazine, HP in November 2009 released two new monochrome laser printers. The new machines offer both energy- and paper-saving features that further HP’s mission for their products to have low impact on the environment.
Both the HP LaserJet 2055 d/dn devices are EnergyStar-qualified printers which are aimed at small to medium sized business as well as small, enterprise-level workgroups. The new HP models come with the ability to print double-sided sheets and use 100% recycled paper. They also feature the capability of “n-up” printing which gives users the chance to print multiple pages on just one sheet. In terms of print speed, they are both rated at 35 pages per minute with a resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. The 2055d and 2055dn feature a 2” x 16” LCD display.
Coming later this winter from HP as a free download for these machines is the HP Eco Solutions Print Console. The Console is designed to give small and medium businesses the ability to manage a printer’s energy and paper-saving settings from a PC. It was also announced alongside these machines on Monday that HP’s new green IT action plan for office printing and imaging which utilizes existing tools created by HP, like their Carbon Footprint Calculator, which will aid these businesses an easy assessment tool for their environmentally-friendly printing strategy.
The LaserJet 2055d will be retailing around $350, and the 2055dn is retailing for about $400.
