New York, NY -- One of the industry leading analysis companies, InfoTrends, has recently published their latest report entitled 2011 Wide Format UV-curable Inkjet & Supplies Market Forecast. In that report, their analysts predict that this segment of the wide-format printing industry will have a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.4%.
They note that “UV-curable technology is expected to play a vital part in the recentralisation of the wide-format digital graphics market, with the UV-curable market moving to a stage where solutions surrounding printers are increasingly important.” This is good news for those OEMs who have invested time and money into producing these types of technologies.
Currently, one the biggest names in UV-curable solutions is none other than HP. HP acquired ColorSpan in November 2007 and since then have produced several commercial-grade UV printers for the outdoor signage market. Best of all, the printers are designed and manufactured in the United States.
Another company which will be sure to continue to make its way into the industry is Memjet. At Castle Ink, we interviewed Kevin Shimamoto, a wide-format industry veteran from their wide-format team in December who had also indicated his belief that more would be done with UV-curable printing in the next 5-10 years. Memjet’s revolutionary technology provides high-speed printing that is much faster than anything else that exists on the market today.
