New York, NY -- According to a press release issued on 19 April, Xerox announced the upcoming release of new printers aimed at small- and medium- businesses(SMB), the WorkCentre 7120 which is color MFP, and the WorkCentre 5700 Series, of which all are monochrome MFPs. Below are some of the highlights of each:
WorkCentre 7210
Print color and monochrome documents at 20ppm using Xerox’s Emulsion Aggregate High-Gloss(EA-HG), designed to create crisper text and sharper color through the use of smaller toner particles
The capability of simultaneous document routing to e-mail, network, and content management software
Color scanning as fast as 55ppm
Faxing over IP and fax-to-email
Direct scanning and printing from USB
Compact for a printer of this level
Sleep mode only uses 3.08 watts of power
Preview documents before printing through interface or PC
Default printing is duplex
WorkCentre 5700 Series
Print speeds up to 90ppm
Uninterrupted printing, scanning, and copying
Color document scanning
Use of “Print Around” feature which enables the printer to seamlessly move to the next job in the queue if necessary resources for first job are unavailable
Restricted access, if necessary, to scan, e-mail, and network fax features
Compatible with IPv6 network security standard
“Electronic ‘shredding’” of data using Image Overwrite
Both of these models come standard with Xerox’s Extensible Interface Platform which allows companies to create custom workflow applications. Xerox gives as an example the ability to scan pertinent information directly to a client’s folder, without specifying the client’s name, through the MFP’s color user interface.
The 7120 will retail in it’s standard configuration at $6,999. It will hit the Americas in May and is currently available throughout Western Europe and all other markets. The 5700 series will begin in price at $7475 and will be available worldwide beginning in May.
