I'm saddened to report this - but it turns out John McCain is unethical. Let me explain.
Search marketing, which can basically be described as purchasing keywords on the likes of Google and Yahoo, has become a billion dollar industry. Businesses worldwide are throwing more money than ever at it in hopes of driving transactions and brand awareness. It is said that when one business buys the branded keywords of a competitor that that business is unethical and immoral (for example, picture Best Buy bidding on the keyword phrase "Circuit City", running a heavily branded Best Buy ad in Google for all to see). While purchasing the keywords of a competitor is not illegal, it's widely held as a "no-no", and a real act of desperation. So you can certainly imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon a McCain ad while searching Google for the term "obama". McCain had my vote up until that moment when I saw this on Google:









Highlighted with the red circle is an ad that John McCain is financing which is an obvious and seriously weak attempt to steal Obama's traffic, and ensure his "brand" is positioned front-and-center. It saddens me to think that our potential President would conduct his campaign in such a way - it scares me to think how he might run the country.
