The Epson Stylus CX5800F printer is decent multifunction inkjet option for the home office or small business. The PC and Mac compatible CX5800F faxes, scans, and copies at a decent 48 bit, 1,200 x 2,400 max optimized dpi resolution, a bit weak for the price. The color printing is at a max 5,760 x 1,440 optimized dpi while black and white is at 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. Print quality wise, the text and graphics are clear and sharp, while photos are definitely below presentation quality. The prints times are definitely on the slow side with an average max rate of 18 pages per minute. The CX5800F has slots for all major memory cards and a PictBridge port for directly connecting to your digital camera. The CX5800F uses 4 individual ink cartridges (T060120, T060220, T060320, T060420) for better ink efficiency and cost effectiveness. Overall the CX5800F is underwhelming in performance relative to the price. While it has all the major features, for $180 better print quality, print speeds, and scanning resolutions should be expected.
