The HP Photosmart 1215 is a quality photo printer for the home amateur photo enthusiast. The PC and MAC compatible Photosmart 1215 offers solid color photo prints of up to 2,400 x 1,200 dpi. The Photosmart 1215 allows for computer free printing through its slots for CompactFlash and SmartMedia memory cards. The printer also reads infrared for wireless printing from enabled PDAs, notebooks, cell phones, etc. The printing speeds are relatively fast, with an average top speed of 19 pages per minute. The Photosmart 1215 uses a 2 ink cartridge system with 4 colors (HP 45 Black Inkjet and HP 78 Tricolor Inkjet). One must note however that since they’re not individual ink cartridges they are less efficient and might cost more in the long run. Overall the Photosmart 1215 is a slightly more expensive brand of inkjet but its performance and versatility make it worth the cash.
