HP DeskJet 3940 Printer Review
The HP DeskJet 3940 Color Inkjet Printer offers a slight improvement over the 3930, but is still a bare basic printer for the budget conscious. The PC and MAC compatible DeskJet 3930 prints at a maximum 4,800 x 1,200 optimized dpi and offers decent graphics, better texts, and sub par, less vibrant photos (up to 8.5 x 11), that is to be expected for a budget printer. The DeskJet 3930 has the standard two ink cartridge system of a black (HP 21 ink cartridge) and a tricolor (HP 22 Tricolor ink cartridge) so you might end up spending more than the initial price of the printer on wasted ink. The printing is improved but still slow side with about 13 pages per minute for text and graphics and about 12 minutes for a 8 x 10 print at high settings. There really are no other features to speak of in this budget system. Overall, the DeskJet 3940 is a slight improvement and still has a great price which will appeal to beginners, students, and casual users looking for simple, reliable, budget printing.
