The HP Deskjet 450cbi is an inkjet printer that attempts to give the quality printing results of larger Deskjets in a portable package. Though hardly portable at over 4.5 pounds, the Deskjet 450cbi manages to print 4,800 x 1,200 dpi resolution prints of average quality text, graphics, and photos using HP 56 Black ink cartridge and HP 57 Tri-Color ink cartridge. It can also work without an AC adaptor via its long life rechargeable lithium ion battery. The printer’s strengths are also in its connectivity. Aside from the USB and parallel ports it also can connect and print from your PDA through infrared and Bluetooth remote sensors (although you have to buy an optional adaptor for this). There is also a slot for CompactFlash memory cards. The biggest downsides however are the print speeds which hover around 5 pages per minute for text and color prints and the cost, $300. Overall if you put a high premium on portability this might be a fair option, otherwise you can get a larger, better performing printer for a lot less.
