The HP DeskJet 460cb continues the 460 line and maintains quality performance and portability while upgrading in features. The 4.5 lb DeskJet 460cb prints 4,800 x 1,200 optimized dpi resolution prints of solid quality across the board maintaining crisp, sharp text and graphics along with vivid photos up to 8.5 x 11. The DeskJet 460cb uses a 2 ink cartridge system with 4 colors (HP 94 Black Vivera Inkjet and HP 95 Vivera Tricolor Inkjet) but the black can be manually replaced with a photo ink cartridge (HP 99 Vivera Photo Inkjet or HP 100 Gray Photo Inkjet) for six colors, something that is usually found in the larger inkjets. One thing to note however, since they’re not individual cartridges they are less efficient and might cost more in the long run. Connectivity wise there is are memory slots most major memory cards and a PictBridge port for directly connecting to your digital camera for computer free printing. The DeskJet 460cb also has a researchable lithium ion battery which can handle 450 pages per charge. The print speeds are a relatively swift 16 pages per minute. Overall, with the battery, the DeskJet 460cb is the truly portable printing solution over the base model. If portability is what you need and you have the money, this is a fine buy.
