HP DeskJet 6840dt Inkjet Printer

The HP Deskjet 6840dt is a slightly improved edition of the original 6840 home inkjet printer. This edition has an added double sided printing feature and can hold an extra 250 pages, making it more useful in high traffic multiple person use situations. The printer still has its built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet capabilities and PictBridge port for directly connecting your digital camera, although added slots for memory cards would have been nice. The printing quality is still good for all forms of printing (text, photo, color) and speeds are relatively swift with it printing with an 8 x 10 photo coming in a little over 2 minutes and a max print speed of 30 pages per minute. The 4 ink colors are still actually a black with a tri-color ink cartridge (HP 94 Black and HP 95 Tri-color) and as with most HP consumer printers, after one color depletes the whole cartridge is thrown out, which might be costly in the long run. Whether the extra spending for the Deskjet 6840dt or not is an issue of usage, aside form that this is still a quality printer.
