HP PhotoSmart 7660 Inkjet Printer

The HP Photosmart 7660 is an inkjet photo printer that would best fit students and families. The PC and MAC compatible Photosmart 7660 offers quality color photo prints of up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi. The text and graphics good across the board with only minor color and resolution flaws, while the photos print out the best (especially if using photo ink cartridges). There are slots for all major memory cards for instant viewing on the computer, however PictBridge support and a LCD screen viewer make this model a bit lacking. The printing speeds are a slow as well with an average top speed of 11 pages per minute. The printer uses a 2 inkjet cartridge system with 4 colors (HP 56 Black Inkjet and HP 57 Tricolor Inkjet) but the black can be manually replaced with a photo ink (HP 58 Photo Inkjet or HP 59 Gray Photo Inkjet) for six colors. Since these are not individual cartridges they are less efficient and might cost more in the long run, something to consider. The Photosmart 7660 is an overall solid home inkjet printing but for the price some extra features or faster performance would have been nice.
